In 2006, I quit the corporate world and took a shot at becoming a full-time freelance writer. With bills to pay, my personal preferences went out the window forcing me to hustle for any and every writing gig that was even remotely related to rock music (hence an interview with INXS on the heels of the band’s “Rock Star” television singer search).
One of my more enjoyable out-of-the-box interviews was Kid Rock, who at the time was promoting his “Live Trucker” album. Sounding stoned to the bone on the phone (sorry), the Kid found his way through the fog and soon gained some comedic momentum after a groggy start.
